Ocean Sunset

The importance of watching a sunset. Or rather, several sunsets, perhaps from different parts of the world, but with a single theme: His Majesty the Ocean.

In my life, I’ve traveled a lot, and I’ve taken a lot of pictures. I’ve chased sunsets and sunrises constantly, incurring the wrath of people who were forced to wake up early to go and see the magic of unlikely sunrises.

Sunsets on the other hand are easier to follow but no less fascinating and full of emotions.

In this work, I tried to bring out some elements that excite me every time I observe them. We have seen the sun at sunset many times, but we are always there watching it, waiting for it to disappear into the blue ocean behind the horizon. At all the beaches of the world, it is always the same. People sitting, alone, with their partner or with their family, or with friends, maybe sipping an aperitif, a beer. All turned to observe the amber colors and shadows that lengthen in the warmth of the approaching evening.

The sea. At sunset, it often takes on an incredible appearance, the lights and reflections mix with the sky and the warm rays of the sun. The surface calms down and mixes into a shape that is difficult to perceive but that fascinates and confuses you.

Then comes the flight of the Pelican. I don’t know if you’ve seen them flying live. They have elegance and precision in their trajectories that give you confidence. They seem to know where they are going and why they are going there. I have printed in my mind their flight in three or four that in single file touch the ocean waves. An authentic taste of California, surfing, and peace.

I took all these emotions, combined two shots, and processed everything with some effects to give softness and get lost in the illusion of the perfect sunset.
